‘Best of British’

This is a unique recording of a concert at the Beck Theatre, Hayes, Middlesex in October 2001 when Max joined the Central Band of the Royal British Legion for a night of music, song and laughter. This was recorded on the night with all the atmosphere of a live performance by one of the legends of the British variety theatre

First hear the British Legion Band conducted by Captain Ted Whealing MVO playing live:

Army & Marine
Westside Story Medley
The Centurian
The arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Home Stretch
Swings the Thing

Then, a live performance from Max:

'Carolina in the morning'
'Tulips from Amsterdam'
'Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer'
'You Need Hands'
'You'll Never Know'
'One More Sing-a-long'
'A Cockney Sing-a-Long'
'Maybe its because I'm a Londoner'
'Down at the Old Bull and Bush'
'The Lambeth Walk'
'My Old Man'
'Underneath the Arches'
'Strolling'
